Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of ClearMX (the "Service"), operated by Bytecode. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

The Service

ClearMX verifies email addresses — checking syntax, domain and MX records, disposable and role signals, and optional mailbox availability — and returns a result and score for each address. Verification is a best-effort signal to help you reduce bounces; it is not a guarantee that a message will be delivered or accepted.

Acceptable use

• You must have a lawful basis to process the email addresses you submit.
• You may not use the Service to send spam, harvest addresses unlawfully, or violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
• You may not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or overload the Service, or obtain verifications without spending credits through automated circumvention.

Accounts

You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials and API tokens secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

Credits and billing

The Service is sold as verification credits. One credit verifies one email address, and a credit is spent whatever the result — including unknown. Each new account receives 500 free credits once, on creation; they are a one-time grant, not a recurring allowance.

Beyond the free credits you buy credits in advance, as a one-off purchase. No subscription is required and there is no monthly quota to use up: credits never expire and remain in your account until you spend them. The per-credit price decreases with the size of the purchase.

An optional monthly plan is also available. It tops your balance up with the same credits every month at a per-credit price 20% below the pay-as-you-go price. Its credits behave like every other credit — they roll over month to month and never expire. You may cancel at any time; cancelling stops future top-ups and leaves the credits you have already received in your account.

Payments are processed by Stripe and prices are in euros. Fees, including credits already granted, are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pack pricing or the monthly plan with reasonable notice; credits you have already bought are unaffected.

No sending

ClearMX does not send email to the addresses you verify. Verification checks never deliver a message.

Availability

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but it is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bytecode will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. Unspent credits are not refunded on termination.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
